ZERO.id – Chinese Government Announces New Strategy to Address #Coronavirus. The Communist Party of China reported on Saturday that it will designate a special working group to address the coronavirus epidemic, which has left a balance so far of 55 people dead and more than 1,700 confirmed cases.
The decision was taken during a meeting of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Communist Party, to which the president of the Asian country, Xi Jinping, belongs. The new specialized team will be defined by this agency, detailed South China Morning Post.
The announcement came as a result of the update in the numbers of confirmed cases and fatalities, including three Beijing doctors, of which two had visited Wuhan in previous days and the third held a meeting with medical personnel who had been in the city where the contagion began.
The Committee of the ruling party stressed that this new strategy will serve to expedite the mobilization of the resources needed to deal with the emergency and shows the concern of the Chinese government to protect the population both inside China and beyond its borders.
