Google Malaysia has released the most searched word or term among users in Malaysia during 2019. Apparently, in the category of People, the name Vanessa Angel, soap opera actress and FTV Indonesia, appeared as the name of the most sought after person on Google Malaysia.
Google Malaysia Trends data as reported by The Star media, Friday (12/13/2019), shows that searches for Vanessa surged in January this year. This could be related to the news about the arrest of Vanessa in January in the case of online prostitution.
It is known that on January 5, Vanessa Angel and the adult magazine model, Avriellia Shaqqila, as well as 2 people from management and 1 other person were taken to the East Java Regional Police Headquarters for questioning. One person was later named a suspect.
“There is one suspect suspected of carrying out electronic transactions there where prostitution transactions are online and there are pimps,” Kasubdit V Cyber Crime AKBP Harissandi said when being confirmed by AFP in Surabaya at the time.
The police arrested Vanessa Angel at a hotel. It was reported that Vanessa was charged Rp. 80 million for a single date.
As for other figures in the People category, it seems that Malaysian netizens are interested in the marriage problems of several celebrities. The top 10 categories include PU Abu Sufyan, a TV preacher who found himself involved in this year’s controversy for divorcing his pregnant wife to marry another woman. There is also a Hong Kong actress Jacqueline Wong who is caught in a love scandal with singer Andy Hui, who is married to actress Sammi Cheng.
In this category of people also includes Singapore singer Aliff Aziz, who made headlines because of his alleged affair. “Aliff Aziz cheats again” is one of the popular related search terms.
